Saudi Arabia just entered the electric vehicle race in spectacular fashion. Startup Ceer unveiled its first two fully electric vehicles on Monday — the Exobot sedan and SUV — in front of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the Ceer Manufacturing Complex in King Abdullah Economic City.
And these are not cautious first efforts. The flagship configuration packs a tri-motor all-wheel-drive system producing up to 1,111 horsepower and 1,500 Nm of torque, launching the sedan from 0–100 km/h in a claimed 2.1 seconds.
Designed to turn heads
The Exobot’s party trick is its doors: futuristic gullwing doors with no B-pillar between them. Inside, a 48-inch 8K “Digital Horizon” display stretches across the cabin.
The numbers back up the drama:
– Range: up to 670 km (sedan) / 560 km (SUV) on the NEDC cycle
– Battery: 112 kWh, 800-volt architecture, 10–80% charge in under 30 minutes
– Heat engineering: Ceer claims its Halo Cooling system drops cabin temperature from 65°C to 32°C in 10 minutes — built for Gulf summers
The bigger play
Ceer is a joint venture between Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Foxconn, with BMW engineering input and partnerships including Hyundai and Rimac. Sales start in Saudi Arabia in early 2027, and the company plans five more models by 2030.
This is Vision 2030 in motion: not just buying EVs, but building a regional auto industry. If Ceer delivers on these specs at a competitive price, the Gulf could have its first homegrown automotive powerhouse.
